JAKARTA - Jurgen Klopp will return to Liverpool next month for the first time since he ended his nine-year term last summer.

Klopp enjoyed a brilliant tenure at Anfield, winning seven major trophies, before resigning at the end of last season.

He will return to Merseyside in May 2025 to appear as a guest speaker at the Gala Ball LFC Foundation at the city's Anglican Cathedral.

Klopp was appointed LFC Foundation's first honor ambassador last summer and will be the main name at the event on May 23, 2025.

The gala event coincided with the final weekend of the Premier League season, meaning Klopp could attend when Liverpool could potentially be named league champions at home against Crystal Palace on May 25, 2025.

Liverpool have lead 11 points at the top of the Premier League standings under new head coach Arne Slot.

They need a maximum of 11 points from the last seven games to ensure the Reds' second league title since 1990.

"Everyone knows how much I love the work of the LFC Foundation. I can't wait to join them to celebrate the job and help raise important funds for them to continue the extraordinary things they did," Klopp said ahead of his return to Liverpool.

Funds raised through next month's event will support the LFC Foundation's work, which has helped more than 127,000 people last season and aims to address social disparities.

Part of the funds raised will also be channeled to Forever Reds, the association of former club's official players.

"We are looking forward to this year's Gala Ball and we are delighted Jurgen will join us to support the event."

"Jurgen adalah pendukung yang fantastic bagi pekerjaan kami sebagai ia berada di klub. Kami menghargai dukungannya yang berkelanjutan."

"We hope as many people as possible can join us on the night that will definitely be memorable and an opportunity to raise funds so that we can continue to grow and support more people in our community and support Forever Reds," said Matt Parish, LFC Foundation Chief Executive.

Jurgen Klopp now has a new role after leaving Liverpool. He served as Head of Global Football Red Bull as of January 1, 2025.
