JAKARTA Jorge Martin is out longer and will miss the MotoGP third series of the season which took place at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, Texas, United States, on March 28-31, 2025.
The Aprilia Racing racer confirmed that he still had to pull out of the track when he was present as a special guest virtually at a press conference ahead of the Argentine Grand Prix on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
"I can say from here that I won't be in Austin. I want to be there, but I won't race," Jorge said.
The defending champion has been absent from Buriram and Termas due to a fracture in his left wrist while undergoing trials ahead of the opening season in Thailand.

Going through three series this season makes Martin's chance to keep his title look even more difficult, especially since Marc Marquez looks promising in the opening series.
Apart from confirming his absence from COTA, the 27-year-old also has not been able to confirm whether he will appear in the fourth series in Qatar next month or not.
"I wanted to do some kind of test before going back to racing because I didn't feel too good. I know Masimo Rivola (CEO Aprilia Racing) is taking it easy. So, let's see if we can make it happen," he said.
After debuting with Aprilia at Barcelona in November 2024, Martin had a bad start in 2025 with a pair of highside accidents in the first morning of testing in Sepang.
The second major accident left him with a metakarpal fracture injury to his right hand and several fractures in his left leg metatarsal.
Martin then underwent surgery so he could not take the final pre-season test in Buriram. He then got better when preparations started at the start of the season, but the accident hit him again.
