All England 2025: Gregoria Qualifies For Round Of 16

Gregoria Mariska Tunjung managed to advance to the last 16 of the All England 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The women's singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung managed to beat Michelle Li from Canada to secure the ticket to the second round of the All England 2025.

The fight which took place at Utilita Arena, Birmingham, England, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, evening, was won by Gregoria in two straight games, 21-18 and 21-17.

Gregoria said that she was not too satisfied with her appearance even though she won. He said there were still many mistakes that shouldn't have happened.

"Both in the first game and the second game, I actually know why the points are missing, mostly from my own mistakes," he said.

Gregoria, who recently married musician Mikha Angelo, decided to postpone their honeymoon and focused on preparing for this Super 1000 BWF level event.

The 2017 junior world champion played this tournament with the highest ranking status in his career. The Wonogiri-born badminton player is currently ranked fifth in the world.

"There will definitely be a lot of new players who are very good, just level up, besides the top players who haven't changed much. I want to challenge to continue to be in this position," he said.

Gregoria is Indonesia's sixth representative to secure a ticket to the second round of the world's oldest event. He followed five other representatives who previously secured tickets on the first day, Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

In addition, Gregoria's victory made Indonesia's representative from the women's singles number still intact. Previously, tickets in this sector were also successfully secured by Putri Kusuma Wardani.
