Ruben Amory Praises Alejandro Garnacho After Draw Against Arsenal

JAKARTA - Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim was impressed by Alejandro Garnacho's performance as the winger worked hard at Old Trafford in a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in Week 28 of the Premier League, Sunday, March 9, 2025.

The Argentine international continues to be a threat to the visitors from the far right.

The 20-year-old got four fouls, more than any other player in the game, including a foul that led to Bruno Fernandes' free-kick before the break.

Garnacho, who also crossed two passes and won most of his duel, performed better than his recent 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad in the Europa League in the middle of last week.

He also faced criticism for his reaction when he was replaced in a 3-2 victory last month over Ipswich Town. At that time, Garnacho went straight to the aisle instead of sitting on the bench.

"I think Garnacho played very closely. He was annoyed last Thursday. Today, he performed extraordinaryly," Amorim told Sky Sports after the match against Arsenal.

Garnacho, who joined Manchester United in 2020 as an academy player and was offered 50 million euros by Napoli in January 2025 after Amorim dropped him from the squad with Marcus Rashford in December 2024, demanding higher standards and competitiveness.

However, the manager later supported the winger, saying that Garnacho had changed his attitude and improved at Manchester United.
