Ester Returns From Injury, Aims To Appear At The 2025 China Masters Ruichang

Women's singles badminton player Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo is ready to appear at the 2025 Ruichang China Masters (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The women's singles badminton player Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo finally returned to the tournament after being absent for a long time by taking part in the 2025 Ruichang China Masters this week.

The event, which is leveled as Super 100 BWF, will take place from Tuesday, March 11, 2025, to Sunday, March 16, 2025. Indonesia has sent a total of seven representatives there.

This is the first time Ester has competed again after a long absence due to injury problems. The Papuan-born badminton player was recorded as the last time he appeared competitive at the 2024 Korea Masters.

"I am very excited to return to competing in this tournament," said the 19-year-old athlete as received in an official statement from PBSI Public Relations.

Ester suffered a left leg injury which forced her to step out of a number of important tournaments by the end of 2024. This then had an impact on her BWF ranking which fell from 20 to 40.

However, Ester remains the second seed in the tournament. You see, there is a application for a protected rating (protection ranking) to the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

"The important thing in this tournament is that I can perform as much as possible and be able to show all my abilities," said the younger brother of Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo's men's singles badminton player.

In the women's singles sector, Ester took part with Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari, Ruzana, and Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi.

The other three Indonesian representatives are the men's singles Yohanes Saut Marcellyno and Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah and the men's doubles Yeremia Erich Yoche Rambitan/Rahmat Hidayat.
