Schedule Of 3 Indonesian Women's Singles On European Tours

Komang Ayu Cahya Dwi, one of the three women's singles will be monitored on the European tour (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - Women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Komang Ayu Cahya Dwi, and Putri Kusuma Wardani did not play all the tournaments in the European tour which took place this month.

The series of badminton competitions in Europe will start from the German Open (25 February 2025-2 March 2025), Orleans Masters ( 4-9 March 2025), All England (11-16 March 2025), and Swiss Open (18-23 March 2025).

The women's singles coach, Imam Tohari, said that the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) decided to sort out tournaments for the three names according to their needs.

"For Germany and Orleans, in the women's singles there is only Komang. Meanwhile in All England and Switzerland, Gregoria is only All England and the Daughter of All England continues to Switzerland," said Imam at the PBSI National Training Center.

The appearances of Indonesian representatives in Europe will be taken into consideration by the coaching team to arrange an Indonesian squad that will appear in the Sudirman Cup from 27 April to 4 May 2025 in China.

PBSI has confirmed that it will open up the possibility of sending young players to the event. The national badminton parent emphasized that players who are considered the most ready to compete will be sent there.

Imam Tohari said that there are many consideration factors that the coaching team will use after the European tour to choose which women's singles players are included in the Sudirman Cup squad.

"I want to see who the opponent is and how he looks. That is the recommendation material for the Head of Development and Achievement. So, the quality," he said.

Indonesia has confirmed tickets to appear in the Sudirman Cup after successfully winning the 2025 Asian Mixed Team Badminton Championship (BAMTC) in China last weekend.

BAMTC is a tournament used as a Sudirman Cup qualifier. Four countries that have penetrated the semifinals in the event will automatically get tickets to compete in Xiamen, China, later.

In the history of the tournament, Indonesia has only won the Sudirman Cup once. The only title was obtained in the first edition, namely in 1989 which took place at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.
