JAKARTA Men's singles badminton player Alwi Farhan is ready to play at the 2025 German Open next week. This is his third BWF Tour on this year's calendar if he appears.
The German Open is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, February 25, 2025, to Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Westengie Sporthalle, Mulheim, Germany.
"God willing, I will play at the German Open next week," said Alwi after the Indonesian team returning from the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship (BAMTC) arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Alwi is part of the team that managed to bring home the title from BAMTC 2025. In the final against China, the 19-year-old badminton player also appeared and contributed points.

Indonesia, which sent the majority of young players, won with a final score of 3-1 over the Bamboo Curtain country to secure the first title from the biennial event.
"There must be a feeling of joy. If you say you are satisfied, no. You see, there is still a lot that I have to pursue again. There are still many targets that I have to achieve this year," said Alwi in response to this achievement.
Before the plan to appear in Germany, Alwi had already played at the Indonesia Masters and Thailand Masters 2025. However, his journey in the two events was far from satisfactory.
While playing at Istora, Alwi only felt the qualifying round. He lost at that stage against South Korean representative Jeon Hyeok-jin to fail to enter the main round.
As for appearing in Thailand, Alwi's journey could reach the quarter-finals. The 2023 junior world champion returned home in that phase after losing to the representative of Ireland, Nhat Nguyen.
