NOC Indonesia Hopes Budget Efficiency Will Not Be Introduction To Indonesia's Achievements

JAKARTA The Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) hopes that the budget efficiency carried out on Ministries/Institutions will not interfere with Indonesia's sports achievements in international events.

Member of the Executive Committee of NOC Indonesia, Jadi Rajagukguk, said that sports need to get around the policy by opening cooperation with the private sector to support their program.

"Sports have shifted to industry. This could have an impact on the economy. Therefore, we hope that in the future sports (sports) will not depend on the state budget. So, there are many opportunities that sports can explore," he said.

The efficiency of this budget has made the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, plans to streamline the Indonesian team that will appear at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games in December.

The plan is that only priority sports for the Asian Games and the Olympics will be sent to the Southeast Asia multi-event for two years.

So he said that currently there is no official information from the Ministry of Youth and Sports regarding this efficiency. He also hopes that the budget that has been proposed by the sports will still be budgeted by the Government.

"Hopefully the Ministry of Youth and Sports can still budget so that the Indonesian team can participate, both in the SEA Games and the Asian Games."

"Pray for efficiency not to occur. Even if it happens, maybe the company can help," he said.

In addition to the 2025 SEA Games, Indonesia also faces two other international agendas that are no less important. Thus, it is possible that downsizing will also be carried out for the two agendas.

The two events in question are the Asian Youth Games in Manama, Bahrain, on 22-31 October 2025 and the Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 7-21 November 2025.
