Officially To Japan, Sandy Walsh Writes Farewell Messages For KV Mechelen Fans

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team player, Sandy Walsh, officially decided to move to Japanese club, Yokohama Marinos. He then bid farewell to the previous club fans, KV Mechelen.

On Sunday, February 9, 2025, Yokohama Marinos officially recruited Sandy. The inauguration means that Walsh's cooperation, which has been going on for four and a half years, must be ended.

The match between Mechelen vs KAA Gent on Saturday, February 8, 2025, on the 25th matchday of the Belgian League (Belitian Pro League) at the AFAS Stadium became Walsh's farewell to supporters.

After the match, Sandy Walsh uploaded a short video on his social media. He was seen approaching Mechelen's fans and waving as a sign of separation.

"Dear KV Mechelen fans, I would like to thank you very much for the beautiful seasons and memories we have experienced together," Sandy Walsh wrote accompanying the post quoted on Monday, February 10, 2025.

"It is an honor and pride for me to have played for your great club for 4.5 seasons. You are all amazing and I will never forget you," he added.

Currently Mechelen is ranked 12th in the Belgian League standings. Even though he has officially separated, Sandy Walsh also hopes for the best for the club nicknamed Dekkars in the future.

"I wish you all the best in the future!" said Walsh.

Previously, Sandy Walsh was recorded to have played for Mechelen in 133 games in all competitions scoring nine goals and providing 15 assists.

Now he chose to move to Japan to defend Yokohama Marinos. The club became Sandy Walsh's first Asian club after a long career in Europe.
