Ahead Of The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup, Indra Sjafri Expressed The Condition Of Indonesian U-20 Players

Indra Sjafri said the condition of the U-20 Indonesian national team was ready to appear in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - Preparations will continue to be made by the U-20 Indonesian national team ahead of appearing in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup in China starting February 12, 2025. Ahead of the approaching agenda, Indra Sjafri as the coach revealed the condition of the team.

After determining the names of 23 players who will be brought to China, Indra Sjafri continues to maximize the remaining time. On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Garuda Nusantara returned to undergo training sessions.

On the agenda that took place at the Madya Stadium, Jakarta, that afternoon, Jens Raven, who was previously known to be injured, is now in good condition and has joined the squad. Regarding the condition of the overall team, Indra Sjafri also said that everything was ready.

"To this day or to be precise yesterday all the players fit. Only Welber Jardim has a little problem with his hips."

"However, today, after we are at the Medical Sports Center, for three consecutive days, almost 99 percent of the players are ready," said Indra Sjafri on the sidelines of training.

"Thank you very much to all the club management, be it League 1, Liga 2, which during Indonesia U-20 preparations starting from TC December 2024, January 2025, until now," he said.

Indra Sjafri also admitted that he was satisfied with the composition of the players in this final squad. You see, according to him, the composition of debut players combined with Indonesian U-20 subscription players will create a balance in the team.

One of the players who caught the most attention of Indra Sjafri was Evandra Florasta. The 16-year-old player is considered worthy of promotion from Indonesia U-17 to Indonesia U-20.

"We are very happy because there are three newcomers who can eliminate old players. What does that mean? That coaching at the club through competitions and training by club coaches is going well," said Indra Sjafri.

"Therefore, we are also surprised that one player from Indonesia U-17, Evandra, was also able to penetrate the Indonesian U-20 squad," said the coach.
