Atletico Madrid Vs. Getafe Prediction: Los Rojiblancos Want To Make Sure Coppa Del Rey Semifinals Tie

JAKARTA - Atletico Madrid will try to secure their place in the Copa del Rey semifinals when they welcome fellow La Liga team Getafe at Wanda Metropolitano on Tuesday night, February 4.

Diego Simeone's team will enter this match after a 2-0 win over Mallorca in Spain's main league, while Getafe continue their solid performance in the same division with a goalless draw against Sevilla.

Atletico enjoyed an incredible season, where im Simeone qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, while they were second in the La Liga table, just one point behind Real Madrid leaders.

Los Rojiblancos, who recorded a 2-0 win over Mallorca on Saturday, will travel to the Bernabeu next weekend, and victory will see them lead the title race.

This could be a historic campaign for Atletico, and the team are favorites ahead of Tuesday's quarter-finals, but changes are expected ahead of the monumental match with Real Madrid in Spain's main league this weekend.

Rojiblancos have won the Copa del Rey 10 times, making them the fourth most successful team in the history of competition behind Real Madrid (20), Athletic Bilbao (24) and Barcelona (31).

Atletico had to win four games in the tournament this season, beating Vic, Cacereno, Marbella and Elche, but it will be their toughest task so far, against the Getafe team who have shown signs of a rapid increase lately.

Visitors will bring six unbeaten games into the game, including a goalless draw against Sevilla on Saturday, with those results putting them 14th in the La Liga table, three points above the relegation zone.

Getafe are actually just four points adrift of Girona who is eighth, which is an indication of their recent performance strength, and they have also detained Barcelona and defeated Real Sociedad 3-0 in two of their last three meetings in La Liga.

Jose Bordalas' team has been unbeaten since December 21, while they have been unbeaten on their way since the 1-0 defeat to Atletico on December 15, and it was a very tight match at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Getafe have never won the Copa del Rey, but they have been in the final on two previous occasions, in 2007 and 2008, while the capital team has beaten Manis, Orihuela, Granada and Pontevedra in competitions this season.

The Deep Blue Ones have not beaten Atletico since November 2011 in La Liga, but this will be the first Copa del Rey meeting between the two teams since January 2013, when both teams drew 0-0 in the second leg of their last 16, which ended 3-0 for Atletico.

Atletico will return without Javi Galan's services due to knee problems, but Rodrigo De Paul is available again after a suspension.

Simeone's head coach will make changes to this match, with Juan Musso, Jose Gimenez, Axel Witsel, Cesar Azpilicueta, Angel Correa, Conor Gallagher and Antoine Griezmann all expected to be deployed to the starting XI.

Simeone will definitely be eyeing the Madrid derby this weekend, so players like Pablo Barrios, Julian Alvarez and Giuliano Simeone are likely to be rested for cup matches, but should still be a team full of quality and experience.

As for Getafe, Allan Nyom missed the game due to muscle problems, but Omar Alderete was available after suspension.

There will be changes between the crossbar, with Jiri Letacek being introduced, while Borja Mayoral, Alex Sola and Carles Alena can also be brought to the team at the attack position on Wednesday night.
