No Need To Worry About Real Madrid's Attack Line, Defense Needs An Increase

JAKARTA - Real Madrid destroyed Salzburg 5-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu in the seventh match of the Champions League group phase, Thursday, January 23, 2025, early morning WIB.

The big win seemed to emphasize the strength of Los Blancos' attack line. Carlo Ancelotti's team have scored at least three goals in the Champions League four times, two of which scored five goals.

Not only that, Real Madrid continued their big win in all competitions since losing to Barcelona 2-5 in the Spanish Super Cup final (Supercopa de Espana) on January 13, 2025.

In a row, they beat Celta Vigo 5-2, silenced Las Palmas 4-1, and recently beat Salzburg 5-1. Everything happened at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ancelotti also agrees that his army's attack line cannot be doubted. However, he sees other sectors need to increase.

"We have no doubts about the players up front. We will try to fix the others and improve the game in every game."

"The efficiency we have is in extraordinary attacks. We have to improve on other things, but we are in good form," Ancelotti said after the match against Salzburg.

Rodrygo became one of the shining players although he was often underestimated because he was covered by the big names Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, and Jude Bellingham.

In the match against Salzburg, Rodrygo contributed Real Mmadrid's opening two goals, all of which came from Bellingham's assists.

"It's very easy to play with Jude, with the moves he does, the bait he gives you. The second assist is very beautiful, I love playing with him."

Vinicius also had a big contribution with two closing goals. Among Rodrygo and Vinicius' goals, Kylian Mbappe was on the scoreboard.

Mbappe has scored five goals in Real Madrid's four consecutive matches, as proof that his adaptation has gone well.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are actually on a safe path to continue their journey to the knockout phase of the Champions League.

They are now ranked 16th with 12 points from seven matches that have been played.

Los Blancos' last match was traveling to Brest headquarters on January 30, 2025. The victory in that match could give them a chance to qualify directly for the last 16 or at least secure a place in the playoffs to fight for the remaining eight tickets to the knockout phase.

Prior to that, as Ancelotti said, Real Madrid needed to fix the defense sector so as not to slip in crucial matches.
