JAKARTA - Manchester United advanced to the English League Cup final thanks to a 2-0 win over tier Forest in the semifinal second leg at Old Trafford on Thursday, February 2, early morning WIB.

This result made MU qualify for the final with a 5-0 aggregate. In the first leg, the Red Devils won 3-0 atTEN.

The hosts' two goals in this match were scored by Anthony Martial and Fred. Both occurred after halftime.

The Manchester United player, Luke Shaw, asked his team not to be euphoric about their success in qualifying for the English League Cup final. According to him, that would mean nothing if the Red Devils failed to win.

"There's no point going to the final if you don't win it," he told Sky Sports.

"This is a great opportunity for us, where we want to be, to play in big games, in big finals, to bring this club back to where it should be, which is to compete for trophies," continued the player.

In the final match, Manchester United will face Newcastle United who eliminated Southampton. The top party will be held on February 26, 2023 at Wembley Stadium.

"We have now had a big game against Newcastle. They are a very good team and it will be a very difficult match, but it is a big moment for us," Shaw said.
