JAKARTA - Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni has submitted an envelope from the Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Suhardiman Amby to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday, July 3. The report was made by the Secretary General of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) after the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) was held and there was an alleged request for money to handle the release of limited production forests.

"Last week, the Minister of Finance, Raja Juli, submitted a report on the rejection of gratification to the KPK," KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo told reporters in a written statement, Monday, July 6.

This report, said Budi, will be followed up by the KPK's Directorate of Public Satisfaction and Services (DGPP).

"Verification of the analysis fund will be carried out. Including coordination with the KPK internal," he said.

Later, the results of the ongoing process will be presented to the public. "Whether the report can be followed up or not," said Budi.

Raja Juli, in a press conference after the silent operation was held, said that the Regent of Kuansing Suhardiman Amby had left a sealed envelope after an audience at the Ministry of Forestry on June 2, 2026.

Raja Juli then ordered his aide to return the envelope on June 5, 2026. However, the plan was delayed because his aide had to accompany him in the agenda of the service.

Furthermore, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Forestry then issued a letter of assignment to his aide on June 11, 2026. In addition, Raja Juli admitted that he contacted the Riau Police Chief to help bring his aide and the Regent of Kuansing together.

The return of the envelope, he claimed, was made on June 12, 2026 at the Kuantan Singingi Police and was documented and accompanied by a receipt.

Meanwhile, the acting director of the KPK Investigation Directorate, Achmad Taufik Husein, assessed that Raja Juli should have immediately reported the gift of an envelope from Suhardiman Amby.

"Yes, it should be the awareness of the PN party (to report gratification, ed)," Taufik told reporters quoted on Monday, July 6.

Taufik said there were rules and regulations regarding the reporting of gratification receipts. "That is, please PN itself should already know the things that are his obligation," he said.

The return of the envelope also does not mean removing the crime. Investigators are said to continue to deepen because they have collected confessions from Suhardiman regarding the gift.

"The return does not remove the crime, yes. But to what extent the return is a fact that was originally constructed that the regent took care of the recommendation to the ministry, yes, it will be investigated by the investigation team later," he said.

"Just wait ... this is just the beginning of the investigation," he continued.

As previously reported, the KPK named three people as suspects in the alleged bribery of the filling of the Kuansing Regent's post after conducting a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, June 29. They are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regent Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.

In the construction of the case, Suhardiman allegedly asked for one unit of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth around Rp2.05 billion to the participants of the selection for the position of the Regional Secretary.

The request was fulfilled by Zulkarnain who bought the vehicle through a credit scheme using Ardiles' identity for financing applications.

In addition, the KPK also found other alleged receipts made by Suhardiman related to the process of releasing Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas. Investigators are said to be tracing the amount of receipts, the mechanism of giving to the party suspected of receiving.
