Persib Coach Robert Alberts Reveals His Disappointment In Losing To Persija

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung coach, Robert Alberts, admitted that he was disappointed because his winning trend with Maung Bandung this season had to be stopped. And what broke the trend was Persija Jakarta, the real rival.

As a result of the defeat, Persib also failed to climb to the top of the League 1 standings. "Today I am very disappointed. We couldn't keep the winning trend and take over the top of the standings," he said, quoted on the club's official website, Sunday, November 21.

Robert thought Persib Bandung did not deserve to lose after seeing what happened in the first and second rounds. Even so, he admits they are not sharp enough in completing opportunities.

"Seeing what happened in the first and second half, we didn't deserve to lose but we weren't sharp enough to finish the chances," said Robert Alberts.

The Dutch coach assessed that Persib Bandung was moving a little slow in terms of transitioning from defense and attack and was minimal in creating chances against Persija Jakarta.

Furthermore, Persib Bandung in the second half could have had some golden opportunities but in the end, none of them really turned into goals.

Robert assesses his team's failure to score goals must be improved and can be overcome in the future in the next League 1 matches.

"We moved a bit slow in terms of transitioning from defense to attack and minimal in terms of creating chances.

"In the second half, we could have scored a few times, but not scored, and when it doesn't become a goal, it becomes imperative for us to overcome it," explained Robert.

Persib Bandung failed to maintain an unbeaten record in League 1 this season after having to admit Persija Jakarta's 0-1 advantage in the 12th week.

Currently, Persib Bandung is still stuck in the 2nd position of the Liga 1 standings with a score of 25 points from 12 matches, 3 points behind the leader of the Liga 1 standings, Bhayangkara FC.
