Head Of Bappilu PDIP Reminds Cadres Not To Be Noisy About Presidential Candidates: If The Regions Have Proposals, Go Slowly

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has become the most highlighted party lately, especially with regard to the issue of the 2024 presidential candidate. Recently, there has been an assumption of strong rivalry between DPR Speaker Puan Maharani and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo for the 2024 Presidential Election.

In general, PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri has not yet opened her voice regarding the discussion of presidential and vice-presidential candidates, but each of Puan and Ganjar's supporters have declared their champion to run in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

In response to this, the Chairman of the PDIP Election Winning Body (Bappilu) Bambang Wuryanto asked the DPD PDIP ranks to 'not be noisy' discussing the names of the presidential candidates supported before a general chairman's decision is made.

"Each DPD does not propose a candidate. We are a party that is obedient to the organization. The decision of the 5th congress in Bali on August 8-11 2019 one of the points is to hand over the presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the president," said Bambang Wuryanto at the DPR building, Monday, November 1st.

According to him, if there are regional proposals regarding the support of the presidential candidate's name, it should be discussed slowly. Don't be like what has been announced to the public without the party's approval.

"So if you have a desire, you must speak slowly. It's impossible for us, we from the DPD PDIP, for example, West Kalimantan, to propose. Something like that will definitely be submitted to more informal forums," explained the man who familiarly called Bambang Pacul.

However, said Bambang, if a number of volunteers declared their support for Ganjar Pranowo and Puan Maharani, the party would not know anything. Because volunteers are outsiders who may have a close relationship with the candidate.

However, said Bambang, as Chairman of the PDIP Bappilu he has not received orders from the general chairman, Megawati.

"I was assigned to prepare all ranks of the troops to be in one line in the process of winning the election in 2024, all according to the Chairman's wishes," said Bambang.
