Husband Who Beats Wife Using Gas Cylinder To Death, Turns Out Just Returned From RSJ

BEKASI – The death of Novi Safitri (26) was so tragic, her husband hit her on the head using a 3-kilogram LPG gas cylinder. Immediately, Novi died. Sadly, the incident was carried out by her husband, Harry Purnama (30), in front of his son who was sleeping with Novi.

After investigating, it turns out that Harry Purnama has a track record of mental disorders. When the murder occurred, it was known that Purnama had just returned from being treated at a mental hospital (RSJ).

The Head of Criminal Investigation at the Jatisampurna Police, Iptu Valeryj Lekahena, said Harry was in a state of stress. According to Valeryj, Harry had been treated at the Mental Hospital (RSJ) Duren Sawit.

"About 10 days ago, I just got out of Duren Sawit Hospital," said Valeryj Lekahena to reporters, Friday, October 29.

However, Valeryj could not confirm whether the perpetrator when he left the hospital was 100 percent cured or not.

"Yes, if the doctor's diagnosis (on 10 days ago the victim's husband had returned) he was allowed to go home. Yes, it means he is good (recovered)," said Valeryj Lekahena.

Meanwhile, in an official statement before the media, the Bekasi City Metro Police Chief, Kombespol Aloysius Suprijadi is still investigating the psychology of the victim's husband Harry.

"Currently, investigators are conducting an in-depth investigation, we are observing the person concerned and carrying out a psychological examination of the perpetrator," said Kombespol Aloysius Suprijadi, Friday, October 29.

Aloysius continued, regarding what conditions it was heard that the suspect was under stress, his party had not been able to explain in detail. He said it was still under investigation.

"This is being observed for this examination, we need time because seeing the person concerned, we also need further examination," he concluded.

Previously, it was reported that Novi Safitri was found dead in the living room of her house with injuries to the head, as a result of being hit by a 3-kilogram gas cylinder by her husband, on Wednesday, October 27 at around 02.30 in the morning.
