Investigators Explore Husband's Motive For Killing Wife In Bekasi

JAKARTA - The Bekasi Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Aloysius Supriyadi, stated that investigators are still investigating the case of Domestic Violence (KDRT) by the suspect HP against Novi Savitri (25) until she died in the Jatiraden Village area, Jatisampurna, Bekasi City.

"Currently investigators are conducting an in-depth investigation, we are conducting observations on the person concerned (the suspect's cellphone) and psychological examination of the perpetrator," he said when confirmed by reporters, Saturday, October 30.

As is known, Novi was found dead in a pathetic condition at her home located in the Jatiraden Village area, Jatisampurna, Bekasi City. The victim died after being hit by a 3-kilogram LPG gas cylinder by her husband.

"The evidence that was confiscated by gas cylinders, then the autopsy results from this victim are photos of the perpetrators," he said.

The police chief confirmed that previously there was no commotion between the perpetrator and the victim. At the time of the incident there were only the child of the victim and the perpetrator at the location. After the incident, neighbors next to the victim's house just arrived.

"This is still being investigated (how many times the victim was beaten). It's possible that (the victim was beaten)," he added.

As a result of his actions, HP was charged with Article 44 paragraph 3 of Law No. 23 of 2004 and then regarding domestic violence, Jo Article 338 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 15 years.

"As for children, there is assistance. It will be processed later to carry out more professional ones," he said.
