DPRD Asks DKI Inspectorate To Examine Cases Of Alleged Debt Fraud In Duri Kepa Village

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission A of the DKI DPRD, Mujiyono, asked the Jakarta Inspectorate to intervene to investigate cases of alleged fraud or debt embezzlement of Duri Kepa Village, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.

In this case, Kelurahan Duri Kepa, through its treasurer, borrowed money from a resident named Sandra amounting to Rp246.5 million and has not been returned until now.

The lurah also denied having borrowed money from Sandra. Finally, Sandra reported this to the police.

"The inspectorate must first go down to conduct an internal examination of why such a case could exist," said Mujiyono to VOI, Thursday, October 28.

Mujiyono said that when the Inspectorate conducted an inspection, all parties involved in this case, such as the Duri Kepa village head and the sub-district treasurer, were deactivated first.

"They are deactivated first, checked both ways, only then can we find out which one is wrong and which one is right. It's also an ethical issue if it's like this, there is also a criminal element," he said.

Regarding the case that was brought to the police, Mujiyono also invited Sandra to process the report. "Take care of it with the police, the Inspectorate will also go, so that the case is clear," continued Mujiyono.

For information, Sandra Komala Dewi, a resident of Cibodas Sub-district, Tangerang City, reported Lurah Duri Kepa Marhali on suspicion of fraud and embezzlement of money. Sandra feels cheated by Kelurahan Duri Kepa because her loan money has not been returned.

Initially, the treasurer of Duri Kepa Village, Devi, borrowed money from Sandra for the needs of the village agency, such as paying RT/RW fees and other debts on behalf of Duri Kepa Village.

In the agreement, every refund paid by Duri Kepa Village will be added a fee of 10 percent of the nominal money deposited.

In May and June 2021, Sandra sent money to Kelurahan Duri Kepa twice with a total of Rp264.5 million. The Duri Kepa Village has promised to return the money as soon as possible. However, so far this debt has not been repaid.
