The Case Of The Fugitive Shooting Engineering, North Luwu Police Chief AKBP Irwan Examined By Propam

MAKASSAR - The North Luwu Police Chief, AKBP Irwan Sunuddin, has been questioned by the Professional and Security Division (Propam) of the South Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) regarding the shooting of a fugitive in the persecution case with the initials IL.

"The police chief has been investigated, but he is still the police chief. All have been examined in the handling of Propam according to the alleged violation of the code of ethics," said Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Police, Kombes E Zulpan on the sidelines of Collaborator Justice activities in Makassar, reported by Antara, Thursday, October 28.

Although so far there have been no official results of the South Sulawesi Police's Propam examination of the National Police personnel suspected of violating the code of ethics for the shooting, Zulpan said of course, if proven, strict sanctions would be imposed.

Apart from the Chief of Police, Irwan, there are five other people who are also being investigated in the same case. "There were six investigators, the Chief of Police, Kasat Reskrim and other members. For Kasat and members were withdrawn to the Polda, transferred and examined," he said.

The investigation, involving the North Luwu Police Chief, is suspected of fabricating the incident during the arrest of the fugitive perpetrator of the persecution which resulted in a shooting when reporting to the South Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Merdisyam.

As a leader in the working area of North Luwu Regency, the Police Chief is also considered not to have examined and supervised his members during the execution of the perpetrator's arrest and five shootings.

In fact, it is known that he did not fight back when he was dated until he was in critical condition when he was taken to a local hospital.

The police chief was also considered negligent by not seeking the truth of the incident, both examining documents and the facts that actually occurred according to the Standard Operating Procedure or SOP.

Previously, victim IL (30) was rushed to the Andi Djemma Regional General Hospital, Masamba, North Luwu Regency, due to serious to critical injuries after being shot by the police five times during his arrest on Saturday, October 9, 2021.

The hot lead fired by the officer was lodged in his knee, lower abdomen, and two wounds to his thigh, resulting in eight stitches to his body. Involved in two criminal cases, namely persecution in November 2020 and arson in January 2021.
