PAPUA - Papua Governor Lukas Enembe said that the 2021 Pacific Exposition event was a breakthrough that was very beneficial for countries in the Pacific Region, especially Indonesia.

Spokesman for the Governor of Papua Muhammad Rifai Darus said Governor Enembe hopes that this event will also be able to boost the economy of eastern Indonesia and be able to become an additional engine for national economic recovery.

"Governor Lukas Enembe congratulated the official opening of the Pacific Exposition 2021 on Wednesday today, where this event will take place on October 27-30 2021 and will be held virtually," he said in Jayapura, Antara, Wednesday, October 27.

According to Rifai Darus, Pacific Exposition 2021 is a trade, investment and economic exhibition in the Pacific Region which is attended by 20 participating countries including Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand.

"The Governor of Papua appreciates the organizing committee for holding this event virtually, this allows anyone to visit the 200 available virtual booths," he said.

He explained that this open access meant that the Pacific Exposition 2021 event would boost huge transactions, as targeted by the organizing committee.

"The Papuan provincial government itself also participates in filling the virtual booths with various superior products that we have," he said.
