Bantul - The General Commander of the Special Forces Command (Danjen Koppasus) of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Hasan, distributed social assistance to residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Bungas Hamlet, Sumberagung Village, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region.

"Thanks to the Kopassus General Commander who has sided with the Bantul Regency Government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, one of which is by providing this social assistance", said Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 27.

With this social assistance, it is hoped that the Regent can help ease the burden and encourage the enthusiasm of the community to suppress cases of COVID-19 transmission, to reduce the level of application of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) to a lower level.

"The vaccination achievement rate in Sumberagung, which is already at 80 percent, if the community is more obedient and vaccinations are intensified, then Bantul will experience a decrease in PPKM levels soon", he said.

Currently, in Bantul, PPKM level 2 has been implemented in line with the decline in active COVID-19 cases, in addition to efforts to accelerate mass vaccination for the community in synergy with the ranks of the TNI and Police.

Kopassus General Commander, Major General TNI Mohammad Hasan, said the decline in positive cases of COVID-19 in Bantul was an extraordinary achievement from the district government, therefore Kopassus would also continue to help and try to reduce the transmission rate in Bantul.

"Although positive cases in Bantul are low, remember that the COVID-19 pandemic is not completely over. Therefore, let's stay vigilant together by always complying with health protocols", he said.

Based on data from the Bantul COVID-19 Task Force, as of Tuesday, October 26there were 56,936 people, with a recovery rate of 55,290 people, while the number of death cases was 1,566 people, so 80 active cases or patients who are still in isolation remain.
