Jakarta's COVID-19 Case Crossing To Thousand Islands

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Task Force (Task Force) Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito highlighted the development of the COVID-19 case in DKI Jakarta which has continued to rise in recent times.

Based on the results of the analysis as of July 26, Wiku said that the increase in COVID-19 cases resulted in all cities in DKI Jakarta entering a red zone. Which means, five administrative cities in Jakarta have a high risk of transmission.

Meanwhile, one district, namely the Thousand Islands, which was previously part of the green zone has turned into an orange zone. This means that there are a number of residents of the Thousand Islands who now have COVID-19 cases.

"On July 19, there were only two areas, namely Central Jakarta and West Jakarta with high risk, namely the red zone. On Sunday, July 26 there were five cities in Jakarta that were at high risk," said Wiku at Graha BNPB, Jakarta. East, Tuesday, July 28.

Then on Sunday, July 21, the Thousand Islands had not been affected. "Now it is a moderate risk. We must look at this together," he continued.

Wiku continued, in the last week, the increase in COVID-19 cases in DKI increased quite drastically from the previous week. The accumulation of cases in the previous week was 1,880, this week it increased to 2,679.

"This is a pretty fast improvement," said Wiku.

In the age category, the number of positive cases between the ages of 18 and 59 is 80 percent. Meanwhile, the number of cases died from the age side at most over 45 years, amounting to 80 percent.

"This means that transmission can occur in the relatively productive age group and the victims die in old age," said Wiku.

Next comes the categorization by gender. Positive cases of COVID-19 in the male group were 52.13 percent. While women are 47.87 percent.

However, if it is seen from the number who died, positive cases from the male sex were 61.26 percent, while 38.74 percent for women.

"This needs to be a concern for all of us, especially the people in DKI Jakarta and also the local government so that they can really pay attention to this condition to improve this condition to improve its condition," concluded Wiku.
