MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Afif Nasution said face-to-face learning for elementary school (SD) level could be implemented starting next week.

"Hopefully next week, we will try this," he said while accompanying Education and Culture Minister Nadiem Anwar Makarim to review face-to-face learning at the Sultan Iskandar Muda Education Foundation, Medan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 26.

Bobby Nasution explained that the face-to-face learning mechanism for the elementary school level was not much different from the junior high school level which had been implemented two weeks ago.

In its implementation, schools must complete health protocol support facilities to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the school environment.

Then, the school is required to have a School Task Force (Satgas) team, to monitor the implementation of the progress of students and educators.

"It's just that, if the junior high school is filled with a maximum of 10 students. Elementary school later we will open eight students," he said.

In addition, Mayor Bobby Nasution said that his party will try to increase the capacity of students who can participate in face-to-face learning at the junior high school level.

"But still based on the children who have been vaccinated," he said.
