Gambling Syndicate Through The 19love.me Application Use Digital Coins For Transactions

JAKARTA - The National Police Criminal Investigation Agency stated that gambling syndicates through the 19love.me application used digital coins to transact. One coin is valued at IDR 3,000.

"This application or want to interact in this application must exchange digital coins. One digital coin costs Rp. 3 thousand," said Director of General Crimes Brigadier General Andi Rian Djajadi to reporters, Tuesday, October 26.

In order to play, users must create an account. Furthermore, it is required to save funds first.

"Before being able to interact directly in this application, people who want to interact must register themselves," said Andi.

"Then after registering, you will be given a username and password then save a deposit of money which is converted into coins," he continued.

After being registered, continued Andi, users of the 19love.me application will communicate. They use the WhatsApp short message application.

"They communicate with users in Indonesia by using a number through a WA application that is registered in the Philippines," said Andi.

Bareskrim Polri has revealed the practice of online gambling whose network is spread throughout Indonesia. The practice of gambling is inserted pornographic content.

In this case, four people were named as suspects. They are Pangki Suko, Erikko, Cipto Wicaksono, and Feri Chandra.

The suspect is charged with Article 303 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 45 paragraphs (1) and (2) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (1) and (2) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE in conjunction with Article 3, Article 4, Article 5 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering.
