DEPOK – A gang of gangsters killed another man who was trying to defend his cellphone when it was confiscated on Jalan Nangka, Cimanggis, Depok City, in the early hours of the morning.
According to information, the incident began when the victim, AR, was riding on WiFi at a shop to play online games with his friends.
"Initially, the perpetrators pretended to ask the victims' addresses," said Rahmat, the owner of a shoe repair shop not far from the scene, Monday, October 25.
The perpetrators, totaling six people using two motorbikes, approached AR with his friends. While asking for the address, the perpetrator immediately took the victim's cellphone. The victim was said to have refused and tried to take back his cellphone.
"The victim wanted to take his cellphone again but instead was kicked and hacked," said Rahmat.
The victim immediately fell down with serious injuries, and the perpetrator fled towards Tapos. Seeing his friend injured, the victim was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital.
"Those who took him to the hospital of his three friends were immediately taken to the Sentra Medika Hospital. Had surgery first, then died last Sunday," explained Rahmat.
Meanwhile, the police said they were looking for the perpetrators.
"The investigation and pursuit (of the perpetrator) is still ongoing." said the Cimanggis police chief, Kompol Ibrahim Sadjab, to reporters, Monday, October 25.
