JAKARTA - Social media is suddenly busy because of news about the arrest of a businessman and Youtuber from Batam, Putra Siregar, by the Jakarta Customs and Excise Regional Office (Kanwil).

The news about the arrest and transfer of the Putra Siregar case file was first uploaded on the @bckanwiljakarta Instagram account. But behind it all, netizens highlighted the upload of the account which deleted the photo of the suspect.

Responding to this, Ricky said that the removal of Putra Siregar's photo was not due to an attempt to hide the identity of the perpetrator. But because the suspect did not wear a mask according to health protocols.

"The suspect (Putra Siregar) did not use the COVID-19 protocol, so we are uploading using the COVID-19 protocol," Ricky told VOI, Tuesday, July 28.

He said that the admin or operator of the social media account @bckanwiljakarta made the mistake of uploading photos of the suspect without implementing the health protocol. So, when it was discovered that there was an error the photo was immediately deleted while it was corrected.

"So the admin is too hasty, so we correct it," Ricky briefly.

For your information, the Jakarta Regional Customs and Excise Office has delegated Phase II (Submission of Evidence and Suspects) to the East Jakarta District Prosecutor's Office on the results of investigations into customs crimes, Thursday, July 23.

The delivery of evidence and the suspect was carried out for a violation of article 103 letter d of Law No. 17 of 2006 concerning Customs.

The suspect with the initials PS has been handed over along with evidence, including 190 used cellphones of various brands and cash proceeds from sales totaling Rp.61,300,000.

In addition, the suspect's assets / income which were confiscated during the investigation stage are also handed over, and will be counted as collateral for payment of criminal fines in the context of recovery of state finances (Dhanapala Recovery) which consists of cash worth IDR 500,000,000, a house worth IDR 1.15 billion and bank account worth IDR 50,000,000.
