Modif Car Transports Subsidized Fuel Without Permit, 2 People In Banda Aceh Arrested By Police

ACEH - The Aceh Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate thwarted the transportation of illegal or unlicensed subsidized fuel oil (BBM) and arrested two perpetrators.

The Aceh Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, Kombes Sony Sanjaya said, two people, carrying subsidized fuel illegally with the initials AA and IF.

"Both are residents of Banda Aceh City. Apart from the two perpetrators, officers also secured two four-wheeled motorized vehicles that were used as a means of transporting subsidized fuel without a permit", said Sony in Banda Aceh, Antara, Monday, October 25.

Taking action against the transportation of subsidized fuel without a permit based on public information. The community reported that there was the transportation of subsidized fuel without a permit in Banda Aceh City.

"Based on this information, the Unit II Sub-Directorate IV Team of the Certain Crimes, Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation at the Aceh Police investigated the community report", said Sony.

From the results of the investigation, the team found a pickup truck and a modified minibus. The two vehicles were allegedly used as a means of transporting subsidized fuel without a permit.

"After a brief field inspection, the two perpetrators along with a motor vehicle used to transport subsidized fuel were taken to the Aceh Police Headquarters in Banda Aceh for further investigation", said Sony.

The two perpetrators can be suspected of violating Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning job creation and amendments to the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning oil and gas in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

The article mentions anyone who abuses the transportation and or trade of fuel oil, gas, and or liquid gas subsidized by the government, said Kombes Sony Sanjaya.

"The punishment is a maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of IDR 60 billion", he said.
