BOGOR - The Bogor Regency Government, West Java requires funds of Rp32.5 million per day to dispose of waste at the Lulut Nambo Regional Waste Processing and Processing Site (TPPAS).

"So we have budgeted for throwing garbage there for six months but it is still a plan, due to budget constraints," said Head of the Bogor Regency Environmental Service (DLH), Asnan, quoted by Antara, Sunday, October 24.

The Bogor Regency Government is allocated 260 tons of waste in TPPAS located in Klapanunggal District, Bogor Regency per day at a cost of Rp125 thousand per ton, or if it is calculated it reaches Rp32.5 million per day.

The reason is that in 2022 the TPPAS owned by the West Java Provincial Government is planned to start operating 40 percent of the capacity of 1,800 tons.

Asnan said, so far the Bogor Regency Government is still prioritizing waste disposal at the Galuga Final Disposal Site (TPA), Cibungbulang District, Bogor Regency, considering the daily waste production reaches 2,700 tons.

"Later, we will also arrange for the Galuga TPA. We are collaborating with the Bogor City Government because it has a larger disposal area than ours," said Asnan.

As is known, the Bogor Regency Government has extended cooperation with the Bogor City Government regarding waste disposal at the Galuga TPA whose contract expires today, December 31, 2020.

The collaboration with the Bogor City Government has been established since 2011, then was last extended in 2016. Because, currently the Bogor Regency Government has no choice to dispose of waste other than in Galuga.

During that time, the Bogor Regency Government has relied on the Bogor City Government for waste management, especially disposal at the Galuga TPA, even though Galuga is located in Cibungbulang District, which is located in Bogor Regency.

This is because the Galuga TPA is mostly an asset belonging to the Bogor City Government, with a land area of around 36 hectares, while the Bogor Regency Government only has an area of 3.7 hectares.

By only having a disposal area of 3.7 hectares, the Bogor Regency Government has to dispose of waste on land owned by the Bogor City Government.
