Kompolnas Believes There Is A Flow Of Money Related To The Djoko Tjandra Road Letter

JAKARTA - Commissioner of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) Poengky Indarti believes that Djoko Tjandra has alleged that compensation was given to Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo regarding the issuance of travel documents and free of COVID-19.

"I suspect there is a flow of funds. Because it is impossible for him to take high-risk actions if there is no reward," Poengky told VOI, Tuesday, July 28.

For that, he asked the investigators who handled this case to also investigate the allegations. Because he doubted that Prasetyo's actions were free.

Meanwhile, regarding the determination of Prasetyo as a suspect, he gave his appreciation to the police. Because, this proves that the Police are serious in uncovering the case.

"We welcome BJP PU being named a suspect. We are watching the process. This shows that the National Police Chief is serious about investigating members who are suspected of being involved in criminal acts," he said.

He also asked the police to investigate the alleged involvement of other parties. "Regarding the possibility of other suspects, we are waiting for the investigation process," he said.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo has been named a suspect in the alleged case of making the road documents used by fugitive Djoko Tjandra. Brigadier General Prasetyo was charged with multiple articles.

The suspect was determined based on the results of examining a number of witnesses and pocketed evidence. Brigjen Prasetyo is subject to Article 263 paragraph 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code and Article 426 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 221 paragraph 1-2 of the Criminal Code. Article 263 of the Criminal Code regulates the making of fake letters.

This case began when Brigadier General Prasetyo served as Head of the PPNS Coordination and Supervision Bureau of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit issued a passport letter for fugitive Djoko Tjandra. The travel letter numbered: SJ / 82 / VI / 2020 / Rokorwas, on 18 June 2020. Prasetyo has also been removed from his position.
