COVID-19 Update As Of October 23: 802 New Cases, Healed 1,066

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. The cumulative total of cases stands at 4,239,396 since the first cases were announced on March 2. Meanwhile, new cases per day reached 802 people.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases today increased by 1,066 people, bringing the total to 4,081,417 recoveries. Meanwhile, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 23 people and a total of 143,176 people.

Meanwhile, the province with the most new cases was in Central Java with 150 new cases and a total of 484,520. Followed by DKI Jakarta with 116 new cases, and a total of 860,749 cases. Then, East Java 74 new cases and a total of 397,775.

Then, West Java with the addition of 72 new cases and the total cases reached 705,011. Then, East Kalimantan with the addition of 34 new cases and a total cumulative case of 157,791.

It was also reported that there were two provinces that reported no additional new cases in Jambi and Bengkulu. Then there are 8 provinces that reported cases below 5, namely Southeast Sulawesi with 5 cases. Then, Maluku and West Papua each had 3 cases.

Then, West Sulawesi and North Maluku with 2 new cases each. Furthermore, North Sulawesi, Riau Islands and Gorontalo with 1 new case each.

The province with the most recovered cases today is South Sulawesi with an increase of 202 cases. Then, followed by DKI Jakarta with 174 recovered cases. Then, Central Java 114 cases.

Then, West Java with 71 cases recovered. Followed by East Java with 61 cases. Then, DI Yogyakarta with 59 cases recovered.

"The highest death cases were in East Java, 5 people. Followed by Bali, 3 people. Then, Central Java, DKI Jakarta, DI Yogyakarta, West Kalimantan and Aceh, each with 2 people," as quoted from Ministry of Health data, Saturday, October 23.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined per day is 250,587. Meanwhile, cumulatively it reached 44,830,998. The details were 27,273,123 examined by RT-PCR, 242,239 by the TMC method and 17,315,636 antigens.

"For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 6,703 people," he said.

Then, the weekly positivity rate for people from 17 to 23 October 2021 is 0.57 percent. While the daily positivity rate is 0.55 percent.

Currently, 775,887 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and the total has reached 112,271,928, and 849,065 people have been vaccinated for the second dose, the cumulative total has reached 67,165,732. Meanwhile, the third dose of vaccination increased by 6,729 and the total was 1,099,600. Meanwhile, the vaccination target reached 208,256,720 people.
