JAKARTA - The Director of The Kasur Institute, Seto Mulyadi or Kak Seto, suggested that January 3 be used as National PAUD Day.
"Our short-term program is to realize January 3, 2021 as the launching of National Early Childhood Day and participate in encouraging the proposals of a National Hero for Education in the category of Child Development for Mr. and Mrs. Kasur next year," said Seto Mulyadi as quoted by Antara, Monday, July 27.
Kak Seto proposed January 3 as National PAUD Day, by upholding the diversity of the Republic of Indonesia and for the best interests of children from an early age that to protect one Indonesian child needs villagers.
The Kasur Institute is a forum and center for synergy of R&D and quality improvement of early childhood teachers which consists of three foundations, namely the Setia Toddler Foundation, the Kazeto Putra Perkasa Foundation and the US Foundation.
"Coinciding with Mr. Kasur's 108th anniversary, we started the operation and the establishment of The Kasur Institute," he said.
Kak Seto explained that PAUD cannot be separated from the role of Nyai Ahmad Dahlan, who initiated education for early childhood in 1919. Then Ki Hadjar Dewantara continued with his Student Park until the struggle of Pak and Bu Kasur's couples from 1968 with Pak Kasur's Mini Kindergarten to develop to Taman Indria in TVRI.
"It is proper for the government to make them National Heroes. Including Mr. Kasur and Mrs. Kasur who were the initiators of the Indonesian PAUD concept and system," he explained.
Pak Kasur or Soerjono together with his wife Sandiah are educational figures who have dedicated their lives to early childhood education. A number of children's songs were composed by these two figures.
