Yogyakarta Police Continues Legal Process For Teenagers Who Vandalized Arema Buses

YOGYAKARTA - Yogyakarta Police are continuing legal proceedings against YS (15) the perpetrator of vandalizing a bus belonging to a football club from Malang, Arema FC. The damage was carried out when the bus was parked in the courtyard of the New Saphir Hotel, Gondokusuman, Yogyakarta City.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Yogyakarta Police, Kompol Andhyka Donny Hendrawan, said that his party had taken over the case, which was originally handled by the Gondokusuman Sector Police.

"Yesterday, from the case at the Gondokusuman Police, we withdrew it to the police," Andhyka said, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 22.

Yogyakarta Police, he said, had summoned YS's parents because in that case the alleged perpetrator was a minor or a child in conflict with the law (ABH).

"This morning we carried out an examination accompanied by the LPA (Child Protection Agency) and our parents had also been summoned," he said.

Even though Arema FC agreed to end the case, according to Andhyka, the legal process that had already been rolled out at the Yogyakarta Police would continue.

"The legal process is still being carried out," he said.

Until now, Yogyakarta Police investigators are still carrying out developments to hunt down other perpetrators.

"The investigation is still not finished. We will develop the examination first. The confession is that they came by truck, more than five people," he said.

Previously, a bus belonging to a football club from Malang, Arema FC, which was parked in the courtyard of the New Saphir Hotel, Gondokusuman, Yogyakarta City, was damaged by a group of people on Wednesday, October 20, at 22:45 WIB.

As a result, the bus suffered damage to the windshield, top side, and rearview mirror. The bus was empty because the players were resting inside the hotel.

The police then arrested one of the alleged perpetrators along with a number of objects suspected of being used in the vandalism, including colored jumpers, bricks, iron sticks, broken glass on the bus, and the Persebaya Xtreme flag.
