Kudus Hit By Strong Wind, 180 Houses Damaged

JAKARTA - Kudus Regency, Central Java, was hit by heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. As a result, as many as 180 houses were damaged, based on the records of the BNPB Pusdalops so far.

Head of the Prevention and Preparedness Section of the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Kudus Regency, Wiyoto reported, the location of the damage was in Undaan District.

"There are 180 houses damaged by strong winds in 4 villages, namely 93 houses in Kalirejo Village, 82 houses in Glagahwaru Village, 3 houses in Lambangan Village, and 2 houses in Medini Village," said Wiyoto, Friday, October 22.

Wiyoto said that most of the houses suffered light to moderate damage to the roof. He said there were no casualties as a result of the damage to the house.

"Until now, there have been no casualties or residents who have been displaced due to strong winds," said Wiyoto.

After the incident, the Kudus Regency BPBD together with the TNI/Polri, local residents and volunteers carried out emergency handling by repairing the roof tiles of the affected residents' houses. Plt. Head of BNPB Disaster Data and Communication Center Abdul Muhari stated that the local BPBD also continues to collect data and coordinate with local sub-districts.

"BPBD Kudus Regency has provided initial logistical assistance to victims affected by strong winds in the form of food and health packages," said Abdul Muhari.

Abdul Muhari appealed to the public to be alert and alert to hydrometeorological hazards such as strong winds during the rainy season.

"Residents are expected to take shelter in a solid place and avoid taking shelter under trees or billboards," he said.
