YOGYAKARTA - The Sleman Regency Government (Pemkab) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) allowed children under 12 years of age to visit public facilities after the status of the restriction on community activities (PPKM) dropped to Level 2 from October 19 to November 1, 2021.

Head of the Protocol and Communications Section for the Regional Secretariat of Sleman Regency, Shavitri Nurmaladewi, said that the policy was contained in the Sleman Regent's Instruction Number 33/INSTR/2021 dated 19 October 2021 regarding Level 2 PPKM in Sleman Regency.

According to him, the Regent's Instruction includes several easing of restrictions on community activities, including those relating to permits for children under 12 years of age to visit public facilities such as parks and tourist attractions.

However, the easing of these restrictions was imposed with some conditions. "The maximum capacity is 25 percent, tourist attractions that have used the PeduliLindungi application, and are accompanied by parents," said Shavitri in Sleman, Antara, Friday, October 22.

According to the new provisions, children under 12 years of age may also enter shopping centers or trade centers accompanied by their parents.

"In addition, they are also allowed to enter the cinema, with a maximum capacity of 70 percent, accompanied by parents," said Shavitri.

She explained that Regent's Instructions also included changes to work policies in offices in the non-essential sector.

According to this provision, 50 percent of non-essential sector workers may work in an office provided that the worker has been vaccinated.

"While the essential sector is a maximum of 75 percent of public services, 50 percent of office administration," said Shavitri.

In addition, the local government allows the holding of wedding receptions with the condition that the attendance is a maximum of 50 percent of the room capacity and without eating and drinking on the spot.

Activities in places of worship are also allowed with a maximum congregational limit of 75 percent of the room's capacity.

"As for the arts, culture, sports, and social activities a maximum of 50 percent. The public and private infrastructure construction sector operate 100 percent," said Shavitri.
