Avoid Extortion, Vice President Ma'ruf Orders Public Services At The Ministry To Be Uncomplicated, Fast And Cheap

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin encourages ministries and non-ministerial government institutions (K/L) as well as local governments to provide public services that are fast, cheap, and according to the needs of the community.

This was said by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin while reviewing the Public Service Mall in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province, Friday, October 22.

"To improve the quality of public services, as part of our bureaucratic reform, one of them is how to make public services not complicated, fast, cheap", said Vice President Ma'ruf in an official statement, quoted by Antara.

With the existence of a public service system that is transparent and fast, it can avoid the practice of illegal levies (extortion) that harm the community.

"So this (public service) must speed up, shorten, simplify and also avoid illegal collections. On this road there is a lot of extortion if the road is long, if it is shortened it is more efficient", he said.

The Vice President also appreciated the establishment of 45 Public Service Malls in East Java Province spread over 14 districts, including Banyuwangi Regency.

"According to reports, there have been 45 Public Service Malls, and in East Java, there have been 14 districts. And Banyuwangi has become a pioneer in this regard", he added.

The Public Service Mall is one of the government's efforts to reform the bureaucracy to provide optimal services to the community. Through the Public Service Mall, the public can manage various documents in one integrated place.

Therefore, the Vice President also appealed to all local governments to start building a Public Service Mall system to make it easier for the public in various affairs at government service offices.

"This is a step that I think is very good and we hope it will be like this throughout Indonesia, all districts and cities have a model of Public Service Malls, have public service lounges, even public service markets, and also community empowerment training centers with various programs", said the vice president.
