The Awareness Of Kendari City Residents Wearing Masks Is Still Low

JAKARTA - The low awareness of Kendari metro residents wearing masks while on the move outside the home raises concerns. This is because the number of positive patients with COVID-19 in the capital city of Southeast Sulawesi has increased every day.

Kendari City Government Secretary Hj. Nahwa Umar in Kendari, said the local government, police and TNI did not tire of appealing to citizens to obey health protocols.

"Don't be careless with the new normal situation. The pandemic has not been successfully controlled, so we have to raise awareness," said Nahwa, launching Antara, Sunday, July 26.

Therefore, it is hoped that everyone will be disciplined in wearing a mask when they are outside the home, washing their hands frequently with soap and maintaining a distance in daily interactions.

The information gathered said that last Saturday positive patients for COVID-19 in Kendari increased by 4 people, so that the cumulative total positive patients reached 166 cases.

Nahwa said the Abunawas Regional Hospital had originally prepared a positive patient care capacity for up to 100 patients.

However, over time the number of Corona patients and general patients continues to increase until they are overwhelmed.

The COVID-19 pandemic is not known when it will end, so hopefully prepare concepts to deal with it until an infinite time, Nahwa said.

One of the options for optimizing patient care is the Kendari City Government planning the construction of an additional treatment building.

"The Kendari City Government receives a development aid budget from the central government so that additional maintenance buildings can be realized immediately," he said.
