MALUKU - Danrem 151/Binaiya Brigadier General Arnold AP Ritiauw helped 1,200 sets of school equipment to students in the working area of Kodim 1502/Masohi, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku Province.

Thousands of school equipment in the form of books and stationery were symbolically handed over by Danrem Arnold Ritiauw to the Koramil commander at the Military Command Headquarters 1502/Masohi, in Masohi Saturday, October 16.

In addition to the aid of school equipment, Danrem also handed over 100 Al-Qur'ans and Bibles each in each walang study, with the aim of increasing children's faith and piety, so as to form an intelligent, faithful, and qualified young generation.

The school equipment will be handed over directly to thousands of students who take part in the teaching and learning process in several learning walangs (small houses, cottages, ed) which were established by Korem 151/Binaiya in collaboration with local governments and a number of institutions.

After the handover of aid, Brigadier General Arnold reviewed the teaching and learning process in several walang learning villages including Nua Nea Village, Amahai District under the Koramil 1502-02 and Wotay Village, Waipia District, under the Koramil 1502-11.

He also took the opportunity to become a teacher for elementary school students who were gathered at the walang study.

"As a son of Maluku, I feel compelled to advance the world of education, especially helping students in Central Maluku, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic," he said as quoted by Antara.

He hopes that the opening of the learning place will have an impact on increasing the knowledge of the children in the vicinity apart from the lessons learned from formal education at school.

Walang learning was built in several places, especially in remote areas and lack of access to information and telecommunications, as well as transportation, one of the flagship programs of Korem 151/Binaiya, as a form of concern for education in Maluku Province.

"'This learning walang becomes a place for babinsa to work to increase children's interest in learning in their fostered villages. It is hoped that these assisted villages will produce quality human resources in the future," he said.
