Legitimate! Father And Son (Alex Noerdin And Dodi Reza Alex) 'Brushed' By KPK, Indiscriminately

JAKARTA - Stumbled upon the alleged bribery case of an infrastructure project, the Regent of Musi Banyuasin (Muba), South Sumatra, Dodi Reza Alex was named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The Corruption Eradication Commission also appointed two of Dodi's subordinates, namely Herman Mayori as Head of the Muba Regency PUPR Service and Eddi Umari as PPK for the Muba Regency PUPR Service, and Director of PT Selaras Simpati Nusantara Suhandy.

"After collecting various information related to the alleged corruption, the KPK carried out an investigation which was later found to have sufficient preliminary evidence, so that the KPK raised the status of this case to the investigative stage by announcing 4 suspects," explained Deputy Chairman of the KPK Alexander Marwata at the KPK Building, Saturday, October 16th.

Alexander explained that this case began when the Muba Regency Government held a project whose funds were sourced from the Revised Regional Budget for the 2021 fiscal year and provincial financial assistance.

"It is suspected that there have been directives and orders from the DRA (Dodi) to HM (Herman), EU (Eddi) and several other officials at the PUPR Office of Musi Banyuasin Regency so that the bidding process is engineered in such a way. Among them by making a list of work packages and a prospective partner has also been determined who will be the executor of the work," explained Alexander.

Alexander also explained that Dodi determined the percentage of the commitment fee from the four projects that Suhandy had given worth Rp2.6 billion for himself and several of his subordinates. Then, Suhandy won four work package projects at the PUPR Service.

"From this activity, the KPK team in addition to securing Rp 270 million of money, also secured money that was in the MRD (aide to the Regent) Rp 1.5 billion," he said.

For his actions, Dodi and his subordinates as recipients are suspected of violating Article 12 letter (a) or Article 12 letter (b) or Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by the Law of the Republic of Indonesia. Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.

Then, continued Alexander, Suhandy as the giver was suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law No. Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

Previously, the KPK arrested the Regent of Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Dodi Reza Alex, the son of the former South Sumatra Governor, Alex Noerdin. Dodi was detained along with a number of other parties, including officials in the Musi Banyuasin Regency Government.

Dodi Reza Alex Noerdin is the eldest son of Alex Noerdin. Alex, who is also the former Regent of Musi Banyuasin for two terms, has been detained by the Attorney General's Office at the Salemba Rutan for two corruption cases.
