KWK 06 Public Transportation Passenger Whose Head Was Hit 3 Times Using A Wheel Lock, Can Still Jump From The Car

JAKARTA - The driver of the KWK 06 city transportation (angkot) heading to Kamal-Kota who hit the passenger with a wheel lock, was finally arrested by the Kalideres Police. In his statement, it was stated that the perpetrator had the intention to rob his passenger, DY, who was still young.

Kapolsek Kalideres AKP Hasoloan Situmorang said the angkot driver had the initials IS, alias BM (24). The suspect, said Hasoloan, intended to take the victim's cellphone on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at around 19:00 WIB.

"The perpetrator in carrying out the theft of the cellphone pretended to invite the victim to deliver the deposit money to Rawa Buaya using the KWK 06 public transportation car," Hasoloan said in front of reporters, Thursday, October 14.

At that time, continued Hasoloan, the suspect took the victim to a quiet place. Because of fear, the victim looked at the car window and screamed for help.

"The suspect took the wheel lock and hit three times on the back of the victim's head until it bled. After that, the suspect immediately took the victim's cellphone from his hand," he said.

The victim's screams turned out to be curious about the security around the location. Hasoloan said, security finally caught up to the source of the sound, and suddenly the victim jumped out of the angkot through the window. Meanwhile, the suspect fled by accelerating his car until it overturned near the Kapuk Toll Gate. The victim reported the incident to the police.

After conducting an investigation, the suspect was finally caught by the police at a gas station in the Kapuk area, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, on Wednesday, October 13.

The suspect was secured along with evidence in the form of the car wheel key used to hit and the victim's cellphone.

IS is subject to Article 365 of the Criminal Code regarding theft accompanied by violence, with a maximum sentence of 9 years in prison.
