People Are Afraid, Regent Merangin Asks BKSDA To Capture The Tiger That Killed Residents To Death

JAMBI - The Regent of Merangin Jambi Province H Mashuri asked the community not to take action on their own to catch tigers roaming the Air Batu Village, Renah Pembarap District.

This follows the death of Abu Bakar, a teenager from Air Batu Village, Renah Pembarap District, who was attacked by a tiger.

"The BKSDA (Natural Resources Conservation Center) and its tough team, I ask that they respond quickly by catching the tiger alive, so that this incident doesn't happen again. If you don't act quickly, the community will take action," said Regent Mashuri. in Bangko, reported by Antara, Thursday, October 14.

He said he was worried that if people acted, there would be victims. So it must be prevented and asked the BKSDA to take the best steps to deal with the tiger.

"If the community acts, otherwise the tiger dies, the community will be injured. For that, BKSDA, quickly arrest the tiger," the regent asked.

On that occasion, Regent Mashuri expressed his deepest condolences to the Merangin Regency Government for the death of Abu Bakar, a teenager from Air Batu Village, Renah Pembarap Subdistrict, who died as a result of being attacked by a tiger.

The Merangin Regency Government's condolences were conveyed by the Merangin Regent H Mashuri with the Merangin Police Chief AKBP Irwan Andy Purnamawan to the victim's parents, while visiting the funeral home.

"We are very concerned about this incident. The Merangin Regency Government is saddened by this second disaster. We have instructed the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) to capture the tiger alive," the Regent repeated.

After being caught, he later asked for the Sumatran tiger not to be released into the forest of Air Batu Village, but to be handed over to the penitentiary, considering that the forest area is no longer comfortable for the forest animals.

The Regent said that currently the people of Air Batu Village are afraid of the threat of tigers still roaming their village. As a result, their farming and farming activities were disrupted because of fear.

"It's a pity for the community. Even though the majority of the residents here are farmers who rely on farming. Their economy could be affected," said the Regent. On that occasion, the regent and the Merangin Police Chief conveyed financial assistance and basic necessities to the victims' families. It is hoped that the regent and the police chief will help a little with their daily needs before they dare to return to farming.
