4,143 Joint Personnel Deployed To Secure 135 Pilkades In Cirebon

Appointment of troops to secure the 2021 simultaneous Village Head Elections (Pilkades) in Cirebon / Antara Regency

CIREBON - Cirebon City Police (Polresta), West Java, deployed 4,143 joint personnel to secure all stages of the 2021 Simultaneous Village Head Election (Pilkades) which was attended by 135 villages.

"We make sure all personnel are ready to secure the 2021 Simultaneous Pilkades in Cirebon Regency," said Cirebon Police Chief Kombes Arif Budiman in Cirebon, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, October 12.

Arif said the joint personnel were personnel from the Cirebon Police, Kodim 0620/Cirebon Regency, Satpol PP, Linmas, and others.

"All personnel involved in the security consist of 1,561 Polri personnel and 2582 joint personnel from elements of the TNI, Satpol PP, Linmas, sub-district government, and others," he said. According to him, currently the 2021 Simultaneous Pilkades stage in Cirebon Regency will enter the academic selection stage for villages that have more than five prospective village heads.

"There are several villages that will carry out academic selection," he said.

Arif said the 2021 Simultaneous Pilkades would be held in 135 villages throughout Cirebon Regency. However, of this number, only 112 villages fall under the jurisdiction of the Cirebon Police. While the other 23 villages are in the jurisdiction of the Cirebon City Police.

In addition to focusing on securing the 2021 Pilkades, the Cirebon Police are also aggressively holding mass vaccinations in preparation for the Pilkades which will take place on November 21, 2021.

"This vaccination is held simultaneously in 60 health centers throughout Cirebon Regency," he said.

He added that the COVID-19 vaccination was focused on villages that would hold village-level democratic parties. In addition, this is a breakthrough for the Cirebon Police to anticipate the spread of COVID-19 in villages holding Pilkades.
