Police Investigate New Mode Of Motorcycle Robbery In Cengkareng, Pepet Victims And Accuses Of Begal

JAKARTA - The police are investigating a motorcycle theft case in the Cengkareng area. This time, the perpetrator used the mode of accusing the victim of committing a robbery.

"Yesterday, we checked the scene of the case. Until now, we are still investigating," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police, Iptu Bintang when confirmed, in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, October 12.

The motorcycle theft incident had gone viral on social media after being uploaded to the Instagram account @jakartabarat24jam, Monday, October 11 yesterday.

Based on the information in the video post, the incident occurred in the Jalan Kamal Raya area, RT 07/08, Cengkareng, West Jakarta on Monday.

At that time, the two victims who were teenagers were riding a motorcycle. In the middle of the road, the victim was immediately confronted by the perpetrator who was also using a motorcycle.

The perpetrator immediately accused the victim of committing a robbery and snatching a cell phone.

The victim was shocked by the accusation and after accusing the victim, the perpetrators immediately took over and took the victim's motorbike away.

The police also met the two victims and immediately directed them to make a police report.

Based on the report, the police will conduct an investigation and examine witnesses and explore evidence to arrest the perpetrators.

"The victim's parents are still completing the completeness of vehicle ownership to make a report. We will make sure to investigate it," explained Bintang.
