Polri Issues SPDP Brigadier General Prasetyo Regarding The Djoko Tjandra Road Letter

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri issued a Notification Letter on the Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) related to the issuance of a road letter on behalf of Djoko Tjandra which involved Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo.

SPDP with number B / 106.4a / VII / 2020 / Ditipidum was signed by Brigadier General Ferdy Sambo and addressed to the Attorney General on July 20, 2020. In the future, investigators will start a series of investigations to investigate suspected criminal acts to help the perpetrators of crimes hide.

Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, said that in the second point of the SPDP, it was written that Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo was charged with multiple articles relating to his actions to help fugitives escape.

"Article 263 KUHP 421 KUHP and / or 221 KUHP allegedly committed by the reported BJP PU on June 1 to June 19, 2020 in Jakarta and Pontianak," said Ahmad at Police Headquarters, Thursday, July 23.

With the use of this article, Prasetyo Utomo was deemed to have committed an offense by deliberately allowing people who were deprived of their liberty to escape or release them.

Or it can be interpreted if Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo provided assistance when Djoko Tjandra escaped and escaped, and deliberately hid the person who committed a crime or was charged with a crime and or provided assistance to him to avoid investigation or detention by officials of the Justice or Police.

In addition, the issuance of the SPDP was also based on the police report (LP) number LP / A / 397 / VII / 2020, Bareskrim, dated July 20, 2020 with the type of report and investigation warrant number SP Sidik / 854.2a / VII / Ditpidum dated July 20. 2020.

However, no details were explained about the legal status of Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo after the issuance of the SPDP. Because, in general, if there is such a letter, there will be a figure named a suspect.

Brigjen Prasetyo Utomo was officially removed from his position as Head of the Coordination and Supervision Bureau of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency. The dismissal was the aftermath of the issuance of the travel documents used by Djoko Tjandra.

The letter issued by Prasetyo is registered as Number: SJ / 82 / VI / 2020 / Rokorwas, dated June 18, 2020, and is said to be an initiative of the high-ranking officer. On the travel letter, it was written that Djoko Tjandra left for Pontianak, West Kalimantan from Jakarta on June 19 and returned on June 22, 2020.
