Defending Anies Baswedan 'Not Popular But Still Insisting To be President Candidate,' Musni Umar: Only Has Name And Achievement

JAKARTA - The Chancellor of Universitas Ibnu Chaldun Musni Umar defended the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan regarding his visit to the PON Papua to watch the athletes from the capital compete. According to Musni, Anies' arrival to Papua was purely for sporting purposes.

Musni's opinion refutes statements by various parties regarding the Papua PON as a venue for warming up regional heads who are advancing in the 2024 presidential election. Apart from Anies, there are Central Java governors Ganjar Pranowo and West Java, Ridwan Kamil.

"Anies is not going to Papua for the election campaign but to give encouragement to the DKI PON team," Musni said via a tweet on his Twitter account, @Musniumar, quoted on Tuesday, October 12.

Musni responded to news from online media with the title 'Anies to Papua is not greeted with joy, different from Ganjar, Unknown, Still insists on Nyapres,?'

According to Musni, the 2024 presidential election is still far away. The activities of each potential candidate cannot be called a campaign.

"The 2024 election is still far away, it's not time to campaign yet. Anies doesn't have a mobilizing party. He only has a name and achievements," tweeted Musni.

Musni's tweet received a lot of attention from the netizens of the application with the bluebird symbol.
