Gerindra Brings Prabowo Again In The 2024 Presidential Election, Riza Patria Claims As Ambitious, But All Party Cadres Hope

JAKARTA - The echo of Prabowo Subianto's candidacy in the 2024 presidential election is again voiced by Gerindra Secretary-General Ahmad Muzani. The chairman of the Jakarta Gerindra DPD, Ahmad Riza Patria, said that the cadres really hoped that Prabowo, Ketum Gerindra, would run again in the presidential election.

"Yes, I am now the deputy governor, what the secretary-general (Ahmad Muzani) said is what all Gerindra party cadres hope for, but the election is still long in 2024," said Riza Patria to reporters at City Hall, Monday, October 11.

But Riza Patria said that there was a wave of hope for Gerindra sympathizers who were certainly part of the community. The question of Prabowo Subianto's nomination as a presidential candidate in 2024 is a right of opinion which is certainly a recommendation that Gerindra considers.

"As well as Mr. Prabowo, of course, all cadres throughout Indonesia want him to appear again than all the sympathizers and ranks. So what the secretary-general said I think is the hope of all Gerindra party cadres," he said.

Riza Patria dismissed the assumption that Prabowo Subianto or Gerindra was ambitious regarding the 2024 presidential election. As is known, Prabowo has run in the presidential election 3 times, once as a vice presidential candidate, twice as a presidential candidate against Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"No (ambitious). So that's what the Secretary-General said earlier. Those are the wishes of the cadres, not his wishes. If Mr. Prabowo is a very wise, very democratic person, today he is carrying out his duties as the Minister of Defense, what was mandated by Mr. Jokowi, that was carried out through him," said Riza.

Prabowo, with the mandate of his position as Minister of Defense, continued Riza Patria, focusing on building the sovereignty of the nation's defense and protecting the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Alhamdulillah, his programs have been carried out by him lately. Yesterday, Mr. Jokowi just inaugurated the reserve components, Mr. Prabowo's programs that have been realized, and many other programs, so Mr. Prabowo's focus is of course as the defense minister in carrying out his duties," said Riza Patria who is also the Deputy Governor of DKI.
