Convinced That Vaccination Can Accelerate The Nation's Economic Recovery, JK Commits To Helping Jokowi's Government

SUKABUMI - Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Jusuf Kalla said vaccination could accelerate the nation's economic recovery. Therefore, his party mobilized expert resources to assist the government in accelerating the vaccination process to various parts of the archipelago.

"Vaccination is one of the most effective in efforts to combat COVID-19, therefore we are committed to assisting the government in accelerating vaccination for the community by mobilizing PMI resources," said PMI Chairman Jusuf Kalla as quoted by Antara, Monday, October 11.

According to JK, as he is familiarly called, vaccination is an effective effort to achieve herd immunity, therefore this vaccination program must be supported by various parties so that public health conditions recover and drive the Indonesian economy as a whole.

JK also encouraged all PMI cadres at all levels, starting from PMI in provinces, districts and cities to sub-districts, together with health facilities belonging to this humanitarian agency, to move simultaneously to carry out vaccinations.

Previously, PMI Central Executive, Head of Health and Social Affairs, Prof. Fachmi Idris, added that through local initiatives and collaboration, currently PMI has reached 857,206 people throughout Indonesia.

"PMI as a partner of the government certainly wants to contribute more to the people of Indonesia, with a special allocation from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia as many as 2 million vaccines," he said.

To support this special allocation, PMI collaborates with the Health Human Resources Training Center of the Ministry of Health by training 2,356 PMI vaccinators throughout Indonesia.*
