JAKARTA - The Army Chief of Staff, General Andika Perkasa, said that at least 618 AD Officer Candidate School (Secapa) students have been declared cured of COVID-19, until Thursday, July 23.
"The PCR (polymerase chain reaction) lab results from the continued swab of patients at Secapa AD until this morning, there were 146 more patients who tested negative for COVID-19," said Andika.
He said, the increasing number of COVID-19 patients who recovered proved that the handling of COVID-19 patients in the Secapa AD cluster showed good news.
He added, with a total of 618 people who tested negative, it means that there are still 690 people who are still positive. Since the beginning of this cluster, 1,308 people have tested positive.
Of the 690 positive COVID-19 patients at Secapa AD, 12 were treated at the Dustira Army Hospital, Bandung, while 678 others were in Secapa AD (isolation) without any complaints.
"From a total of 1,308 students who tested positive for COVID-19, this morning it has decreased by 618 to 690 people," said Andika.
In supporting the handling of COVID-19, Andika collaborates on research conducted by the Unair Hospital regarding the COVID-19 drug.
On Thursday last week, the second PCR laboratory began to operate, namely at the Sariningsih Army Hospital, Bandung, to accelerate the service of examining specimens from swab test results in Bandung and its surroundings, after operating the PCR laboratory at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital.
This operation is part of the procurement of 68 PCR laboratories for 68 TNI AD hospitals throughout Indonesia, as support for the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19.
All efforts have been made by the Indonesian Army, both in the procurement of medical equipment for medical personnel to collaborating with other hospitals, in order to reduce the current spread of the COVID-19 virus in undergoing a new normal era.
In addition, Adnika has also asked the Head of the Army Health Center (Kapuskes AD) Brigadier General Asrofi Sueb Surachman to accelerate the coordination of the implementation of the clinical trial of the COVID-19 drug combination with all Heads of the Indonesian Army Hospital.
