Rizieq Shihab's Cassation Session In MA, Police Deploy 1,660 Personnel

JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Metro Police deployed around 1,660 personnel to secure the cassation trial with the defendant Rizieq Shihab at the Supreme Court (MA).

Head of Sub-Division of Public Relations of Central Jakarta Metro Police, Adjunct Commissioner of Police Sam Suharto, said the personnel were assigned to the Monas area to anticipate crowds.

"We will carry out security in a humane manner," Sam said when confirmed in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, October 11.

In line with that, the Head of Central Jakarta Traffic Unit, Kompol Purwata, said that security would be carried out tentatively according to conditions on the ground.

In addition to securing Rizieq Shihab's cassation hearing, police personnel were also alerted to guard the peaceful demonstration of farmers and the Student Executive Board (BEM) from four universities at the IRTI Monas Square and the Ministry of Trade Office, Central Jakarta.

"Meanwhile, Central (Jakarta) is not allowed to hold any action because there is still PPKM Level 3. Tentative escorts as needed will be pushed from the region if needed," said Purwata. the case of a mass crowd in Petamburan, Central Jakarta.

Reporting from the MA website, it is stated that the Rizieq 3705 K/PID.SUS/2021 case which was requested by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) as the applicant to the respondent/defendant Moh. Rizieq Bin Sayyid Husein Shihab Alias Habib Muhammad Rizieq Shihab, with the composition of Judges P1, Desnayeti, Judge P2 Soesilo, and Judge P3 H. Suhadi.
