Perindo's 7th Anniversary, Hary Tanoesoedibjo Alludes To People's Convention Searching For Jokowi's Successor In 2024

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Perindo Party, Hary Tanoesoedibjo, spoke about the 2024 presidential election. Hary Tanoe, the boss of MNC Group, said that a people's convention is needed to find a successor to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) after his term ends.

“The Perindo Party is fighting for the welfare of the Indonesian people. We want our people to prosper together, and not welfare that is only concentrated in certain groups," said Hary Tanoe, Friday, October 8.

He emphasized that the Indonesian nation was born from struggles and thoughts above all groups, not above a few certain elites or those who are stronger economically and in power.

"Political parties as the main pillars of democracy must ensure that arbitrariness in achieving and distributing welfare does not occur," said Hary Tanoe.

"The Perindo Party strives for noble ideals, namely realizing prosperity for all people, without discrimination, through policies that take sides and accelerated education in order to realize a united, sovereign, just and prosperous Indonesia," he continued.

The development of the nation is called Hary Tanoe starting from the quality of human resource education. This focus is the key and the main capital that must be the focus of development.

“Political parties are the backbone of Indonesia's democracy and nation-building. Through advocacy for public policies carried out by Perindo Party cadres who are currently serving in the executive and legislative institutions, we hope to provide change and prosperity for our society," he said.

Related to this, Hary Tanoe said that although the 2024 Election is still two years away, the Perindo Party is determined to take an active role to participate in the success of the 2024 Election as one of the election participants.

"The Perindo Party is determined to produce leaders and representatives of the people who are purely the result of the people's choice, both at the national and regional levels who have a firm commitment and work hard to realize the noble goal of the people's welfare," he said.

"In order to realize these lofty ideals, and as part of a transparent and inclusive democratic process, allow me, on behalf of all cadres and leaders of the Perindo Party to declare the birth of the People's Convention to elect Candidates for Legislative Members at the central and regional levels in 2024," said Harry Tanoe.

This People's Convention, continued Hary Tanoe, was born from the idea of building a digital-based political ecosystem, while still upholding democracy which gives full sovereignty to the people to elect their candidates for representatives in parliament.

The People's Convention is said to provide equal and inclusive space for participation in politics as the basis for building party institutions, so that the process of selecting people's representatives in parliament is transparent and is a form of pure people's aspirations that are far from transactional and exclusivity practices.

"Through the digital-based People's Convention, the Perindo Party became the first political party in Indonesia to promote e-democracy, or digital-based democracy, namely building a modern democracy whose process uses information technology in accordance with the demands of today's fast-paced, transparent and equitable manner, so that provides an open opportunity for anyone, from experienced voters to millennial and zillennial voters in realizing their political aspirations,” said Hary Tanoe.

With the People's Convention, the Perindo Party called Hary Tanoe will become an open political party that is truly inclusive.

“Through the People's Convention, the Perindo Party will be the pioneer in initiating a movement to change towards a modern party structure and behavior, by knitting the sovereignty of the people to elect their leaders and representatives. With information technology-based, the relationship between the party and its constituents will be more solid and unified. This is a movement that we hope can create a fundamental change in the democratic culture of modern Indonesia,” said Hary Tanoe.

For the Perindo Party, Hary Tanoe emphasized that when the people get to know their leaders and representatives in parliament, the delivery of aspirations will be more targeted.

Through information technology, the delivery of people's aspirations will be more instant and maximal.

"The People's Convention is the first step in a series of changes and institutional strengthening of the Perindo Party that we will initiate in the next few months," continued Hary Tanoe.
